Maluhia Road to close for community clean-up on July 16

K?LOA – The public is advised that Maluhia Road, from Kaumuali‘i Highway to Ala Kino‘iki junction, will be closed on Saturday, July 16, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a community clean-up.

Traffic will be diverted to Piko, Oma‘o, and Koloa roads during the road closure. Motorists should allow extra travel time and follow the speed limits and all traffic signs.

Electronic message boards are also installed to inform motorists.

The road closure will allow community groups to conduct their annual clean-up, “Gateway to the South Shore,” in preparation for the Koloa Plantation Days. In addition, the County of Kaua‘i Roads Division will be present for roadside maintenance work.

The Tree Tunnel beautification project is spearheaded by Koloa Plantation Days in partnership with various community organizations.

Anyone who would like to participate in the clean-up is encouraged to call Melissa McFerrin at 808-652-3217.

For more information about the road closure, you may call Bryson Vivas with the Roads Division at 808-241-4844.
